13 Ways to Hibernate This Winter
Guest contributors: Tera Blanco and Abby Ramirez

If animals can hibernate, then why can't we?

1.No Shave November (and maybe December too)
It's the cheapest way to create your own winter coat. North Face, Columbia, and Sorel are about to be out of business this holiday season. Ladies, this is not an advisable strategy if you are searching for a male companion.

2. Leave Your House/Apartment/Dorm As Little As Humanly Possible
Lock the door. Board up the windows. No one is coming in or out. Who needs to hang out with your friends in person when there is Skype and FaceTime? Not worth venturing out in the tundra. Ain't nobody got time fo dat. People will probably ask, "Has anyone seen (insert your name here) at all this winter?" The goal answer is no. You are a hermit. There is probably an iPhone app for anything you may consider leaving your home for.

3. Renew Your Netflix Subscription
Can't remember every detail of Season 4 of Friends? Netflix is there for you. When bae doesn't want to hang out, Netflix says "Next Episode?" Netflix will never judge you for binge watching 11 episodes of Gossip Girl in one day. It cheers you on and says "You go girl, you go."

4. Stock Up On As Much Food As Possible
Step 1: Go to grocery store
Step 2: Buy everything in sight
Step 3: Eat everything you bought
Step 4: Stay warm this winter with an extra layer of fat. Congrats!

5. Invest In Fuzzy Socks And A Quality Robe
A recent study shows that happiness and number of pairs of fuzzy socks have a direct correlation. It's science. Robes are necessary because sometimes you're just too tired to put clothes on. And everyone feels like a bada** when they wear a robe. Show Hugh Hefner how it's done. Males: grab your cigars.

6. Also Invest In A Snuggie
"It's just a blanket with sleeves," says any hater who has obviously never tried a snuggie. It is crucial when you want to be warm but also want to text and communicate with the outside world. Also, it is a good strategy to keep people from stealing your blanket. Because you're wearing it.

7. Get Your Hot Chocolate Game On Point
Can't decide if Swiss Miss or Nestle is better? Good thing you have all winter to try those brands and every other hot chocolate brand out there, as well as perfecting the ratio of milk and marshmallows. Do it for science.

8. Ensure A Good Wifi Connection
It's already negative degrees outside. The last thing you need is to wait for Safari to load, watch YouTube spool, or waste any time while your Netflix movie says it is "Loading." Nothing is more underrated than speedy Wifi.

9. Buy Backup Phone Chargers
Just in case your fourth string iPhone charger breaks, you're one step ahead. Refer back to #2 and try to avoid entering the outside world for any reason.

10. Sleep Until It's Spring
Cold? Go to sleep. Wake up and still cold? Probably go back to sleep. Unless it's Christmas morning. Then get your butt out of bed, you bum.

11. Listen To "All I Want For Christmas Is You" By Mariah Carey
As long as there is snow on the ground, this song is acceptable to blast on repeat. Even if Thanksgiving is weeks away, or the next upcoming holiday is St. Patrick's Day, you have the go ahead to sing this loudly. You don't want a lot for Christmas, and there is just one thing you need: to listen to this song as much as humanly possible.

12. Have A Pizza Delivery Guy's Number On Speed Dial
Pizza might be the only reason one would ever need to leave his home, because it is the best food ever created. Whoever thought of pizza delivery was a mastermind. MAJOR GAMECHANGER. Pizza is the only reason you should open your door, because it is your best companion during the winter months. If you don't have a significant other, consider ordering another pizza.

13. Find A Cuddle Buddy -Or- Buy A Giant Pillow
Everyone knows winter is slightly less miserable when you are cuddling and watching a movie with your significant other. Make sure to start the search for your cuddle buddy well before Cuffing Season begins to avoid being the last kid not picked during kickball. Be proactive and start studying for this exam early. It's the hunger games, ladies and gentlemen. If you find yourself still single during the tundra months, consider buying a giant pillow to substitute. You'll be fine.
